Understanding Macro Photography and How to Do It

The definition of macro photography is taking a photo with images or small objects with a very close, detailed, sharp shooting distance, and without the help of tools such as microscopes. Small objects such as small animals are taken to explore various kinds of details and textures that cannot be seen clearly and with the naked eye.

Understanding Macro Photography

Macro Photography Tools

To get the desired macro object, a photographer must have several tools in terms of macro photography, including:

Camera

The camera certainly (is certainly) an absolute requirement that must be owned by a photographer. The camera that is usually used by photographers to take macro pictures is a special SLR or DSLR camera. The brands of SLR or DSLR cameras that are most widely sold in the market and also of very high quality are Canon and Nikon. DSLR itself is an abbreviation of the word digital single lens reflect.

Camera lens

A camera certainly has a camera lens. In macro photography, the lens commonly used is a fixed 50 mm lens.

Flash Trigger

Flash triggers will be needed because the external flash on the camera is certainly not mounted on the camera body, but is installed separately. If it is still mounted on the camera body, it will be at risk, so that the light obtained from the flash is blocked by the lens which has been given an additional (extra) tool to produce macro photos.

Mini Tripod

The mini tripod can be used as an additional (extra) tool. To take macro photos, of course, a photographer must require high concentration and focus, because the slightest disturbing movement will have an impact and affect the resulting macro photos.

Some Techniques and Tips in Macro Photography

Preparation

Before starting to take photos, collect intentions first because making a macro photo can't be considered easy. Then proceed (do) with preparing all the necessary tools.

Additional tools

An additional (other) tool in the form of a macro ring or also called a macro extension tube must be installed after the regular lens has been attached. Setting the lens aperture or diaphragm with a large F value, for example(,) the value of F/22. When finished in setting, remove the lens and attach the lens or attachments. The aperture must be set first, because the additional (extra) lens attached makes it feel like it has no connection to the camera body, so the focus must be adjusted manually. And don't forget to also install a camera flash trigger.

Macro photo capture process

If you already have an object to be photographed, try to take it slowly and not in a hurry. For example, flies or other small insects, of course, will fly when you approach. As a suggestion, you can also use a speed of 60/s, so that the lens shake does not become too large. Speed 60/s is a very safe point for macro shooting. But the resulting photo may be dark, that's where the additional external flash should be placed. A mini tripod is also very necessary to get calm when taking photos.

Like (as) the understanding of macro photography, it is very rare that macro photos can be produced in one snap. It takes several shots, and you can choose the best photo.

Lensa kamera

Kamera tentu saja memiliki lensa kamera.

Proses pengambilan foto makro
